A tribute
Ribe Animations festival 2010 is a celebration of a fascinating and experimenting film art that surprises, entertains and creates debate in its own way. Getting something to move is what animation means, which can be drawings, clay figures and computer animations in movies.
Our wish is to give the audience the option to enjoy animation as art, at the same time to celebrate two great Danish pioneers within the art of animation, Børge Ring and Kaj Pindal.

Børge Ring
Børge Ring, born 89 years ago in Ribe, he is the son of Oluf Ring, Ribes well known composer. Børge Ring is one of the most established names in international world of animation and has been involved in a wide range of Asterix films, the cartoon series 'The Pink Panther', and the Danish productions: 'Valhalla', 'The Tale of the wonderful potato' and 'monkeys and the secret weapon'.

Kaj Pindal
Kaj Pindal, born 83 years ago, he started to animate cartoons in Denmark, but has since 1957 lived in Canada.
Kaj Pindals talent sheer diversity has not only led him around the world including London and San Francisco, it has also given him numerous honors.In the first half of the nineties cooperated Kaj Pindal and Børge Ring on 2 informational movies, Karate Kids, which is about the dangers of AIDS and Goldtooth dealing with drug abuse. These two movies show on a humorous and light understandable way the serious messages, especially for the many street children in many parts of the world.
