1.-31. Children, nature and exercise
A day of role play for children in daycare, about Ribe in the Middle Age. The children are dressed in medieval costumes, walk through the streets of Ribe and are told about the town’s history. The walk ends at Riberhus Slotsbanke, where the children hear the story of Queen Dagmar.

2.-31. Museet Ribes Vikinger

8. Official opening of Ribe’s 1300 year anniversary
Ribe’s 1300 year anniversary is opened in the cathedral of Ribe with speeches by mayor Johnny Søtrup, culture minister Carina Christensen and with music by Michala Petri and Vestjysk Symfoniorkester.

9. Brorson - Stub
Double show and dinner arrangement with two delicious courses. Thimes and NOF (Hans Thimes and Niels Ole Frederiksen) have written and present this show about two contemporary writers, but very different pastors from Ribe: H. A. Brorson (1694-1764) and Ambrosius Stub (1705-1758). Second half are Thimes and NOF’s Golden Hits.
Place: Brorsonsminde, Fiskergade 13, Ribe.

Great photo exhibition at Danhostel Ribe. Over 50 large photos on canvas show the inhabitants of Ribe, their town and nature. All captured with a wink by Gudrun Rishede.

This exhibition invites all inhabitants of Ribe to contribute with their own art works. Bring your art from home, all is of interest – also grandmothers crochet pieces, as long as the motive is from Ribe or the Ribe area.
Place: Ribe Kunstmuseum, Quedens Gård, Sortebrødregade 1.

29. Friday matinee at Café Hjørnet
Café Hjørnet is operated by the home guidance unit in Ribe and by disabled persons. We celebrate Ribes 1300 year anniversary by inviting all in to historical lectures and music, some theater and fun. In cooperation with the institution Åholmen, the windows of the café are decorated with photo collages from the history of inhabitants and the art group is working with the theme ”Ribe 1300 years”.

4. Ribelund’s Museum
Ribelund’s over 100 year history is exhibited at Ribelund’s Museum. In the museum, life and everyday routines at Ribelund from the founding in 1907 is shown in pictures, effects and the stories told by the museum staff. The purpose of the museum is to show, how life was lived in an institution with rough conditions for people. Further the great development of Ribelund over the years is clarified.
