Brostensgaderne er blot en af de mange udfordringer.

Access for everybody

Curvy cobblestone streets, old houses with a lot of staircases, swampy marshland, wet meadows... Ribe has got it all. If you are disabled that is a daily challenge. We strive to create a jubilee with easy access for disabled people, in order to make everything easier for citizens and tourists.

Disability-friendly events
We encourage institutions and volunteers to be innovative about access and possibilities for disabled, whenever they are planning an event. Some places and some events are already easy to participate in, even though you are disabled. Other times small changes might suffice: a ramp for wheel chairs, new experienxes via the five senes, smells, sounds, different lights etc.

Tourism for disabled
Our experiences will be documented in order to give disabled easier access in the future. It shall be easier to participate in events, and to plan the vacation. We will involve institutions and organisations for disabled in order to create access and research. The results will be documented, and the tourism for disabled will be developed, not only for the benefit of disabled in Ribe, but also in Denmark and abroad.

Why do we do this?

Ribe contains everything that makes it difficult to move around and experience the town. No matter if people are visually impaired, sit in a wheel chair or otherwise are disabled, we want to give them the same possibilities to visit Ribe as everybody else. Our goal is to create as many activities for disabled as possible. We will document all the results in order to develop tourism for disabled and pass on our knowledge.
